Here's my first attempt at an avatar ... my daughter gave some input.
Here's my second attempt at an avatar using Illustrator ...
Third attempt at an avatar ... purchased a wooden manikin to use as visual ... used pencil tool with graph/grid behind to judge size and proportions
First attempt using grid ... used to distinguish size of snowman parts and to align mountains as well as snow at the bottom of the mountains... didn't really use the ruler as not able to determine how to move ruler from outside to inside the picture.
Could not figure out how to have grid show on final saved draft
Second attempt using the grid
Used the grid to determine proportions and location. Selected all, grouped as one, copied, then pasted. Next, clicked on "object" then "transform" then "reflect" to have second fairy as a mirror reflection.
Took avatar, clicked "object" then "transform" then "rotate" ... rotated 45 degrees.
Pattern ...
Created pattern of polygons. Used live paint bucket to fill some of the polygons, then used blob brush tool to create line and adjusted size of brush line.
